I’m Ilyce Glink with expertrealestatetips.net. It may be hard to believe but it’s been more than five years since the federal government created the Do Not Call List.
The Do Not Call List allows you to sign up and keep direct marketers from calling your house during the dinner hour and at other times of the day or night. It’s not perfect but it really does cut down on the number of calls you receive at inopportune moments.
It’s easy to sign up for the Do Not Call List and once you sign up your number will stay on the list for five years. Here’s how to do it.
You can go online to Do Not Call dot gov and register your phone numbers including your cell phone number.
All you have to do is type in your telephone numbers and in 31 days your phone number should fall off those direct marketers’ lists who are required to subscribe to the do not call list. There’s a Spanish version of the site as well.
Congress being Congress, the Do Not Call List isn’t perfect. You’ll still get calls from political organizations, telephone survey companies, charities and companies you’re already doing business with. But, my dinner hour is a lot quieter since I signed up and I’m sure yours will be too.
